Who's Who in the Wolves Glen Pub

These characters were played in the "Wolves Glen Pub" thread of newsgroup rec.games.frp.storyteller from the spring of 2001 through the dying of the thread in early 2005. Some older descriptions may be found at Justine's Official Wolves Glen Pub Page.)

 Pub Description Updates 

• The Chalk Board
  In addition to the sign above the bar, there is a chalkboard behind it with some additional rules.
  • The first one says "THE PRICE OF YOUR FIRST DRINK IS A STORY"
  • Below that is written "PATRONS ARE REQUESTED not to speculate on the spiritual destiny of vampires-en-masse, upon penalty of expulsion."


• The Pattern Spiders
  For the observant: those inspecting the walls of the Pub will notice a pair of fine parallel lines carved into the walls of the pub, just above the skirting board, with a repeating sequences of hexagonal runes marked between them.
  
  For those who can see into the Umbra, there are a large number of Pattern spiders about. Many of them look a bit odd, though, being somewhat thinner than normal and with an extra pair of legs. The thin spiders are engaged in small constant housekeeping duties. Cleaning up spills, polishing the mirror, keeping dry rot from the floorboards, and so on.

• Miscellanea
  • The football table doesn't seem to be around anymore.
  • There are some odd trophies hung on the wall; look like they might be HITMark parts.
  • There is a small pile of stuffed (plush) animals against one wall. The pile is known to include an Oscar the Grouch, a Tickle-me Elmo, a Paddington Bear, and a fluffy white unicorn, among others.
  • A small table near the bar has a go board inked on it, and packages of sunflower and pumpkin seeds on top for makeshift stones.

 The NPCs 

The objects below are shared NPCs. Anyone may write that the Jukebox is playing a song, and anyone may use the Nutrimatic (but note any current restrictions or tendencies on the latter as various characters attempt to adjust or re-adjust its settings).

 The Jukebox
The Jukebox is a semi-sentient magical machine which seems capable of playing any music in existance, whether it is on the discs it is supplied with or not. It sometimes plays what it apparently considers an "appropriate" tune, inspired by events or conversation in the Pub. It can also do requests, though not always in the manner the requester desires.

 The Nutrimatic
The Nutrimatic is a balky semi-sentient magical dispensing machine. The primary users of the Nutrimatic tend to be the vampires, as it is able to dispense fresh blood. The Nutrimatic does often try to impose its preferences on whatever it creates. For a while whatever liquids it dispensed tasted of tea, then for a time, of fruit flavors (especially orange juice.) Currently it seems to be settling for an undertaste of fruit flavour in its concoctions.
